How to measure bolt pattern?

To measure an ATV's bolt pattern, you need to determine the number of bolts (lug count) and the distance between them. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Count the Lug Holes: Look at the wheel and count the number of lug holes. Common ATV bolt patterns include 4, 5, or 6 lug holes.

2. Measure the Bolt Circle Diameter (BCD):

   • For 4-Lug Wheels:

     • Measure the distance from the center of one lug hole to the center of the opposite lug hole (directly across the wheel).
     • This gives you the diameter of the bolt pattern circle.

   • For 5-Lug Wheels:

     • Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the opposite lug hole.
     • Since the lug holes aren't directly across, measuring center-to-edge gives an approximate bolt circle diameter.

 

Identify the Bolt Pattern:

• Combine the lug count and the bolt circle diameter (in millimeters) to form the bolt pattern.
• For example, if your ATV has 4 lug holes with a 110 mm diameter, the bolt pattern would be "4/110."

This method works for any ATV, ensuring you can correctly identify and match the right wheels.
